Transportation Costa Rica Why Not ???
Costa Rica Why Not, can assist you with ground transportantion base on your need.
Private transfers
Costa Rica Why Not can provide private ground transfers to all destinations in Costa Rica. Due to the mountainous terrain that exists throughout Costa Rica , travel by ground will take 3-5 hours from each destination to the next, this is a time to relax and enjoy the ride. We use very comfortable late model vans with air-condition and have the appropriate tourism licenses and insurances. As a new first time visitor to this country, we believe this is the best way to see what Costa Rica is all about, seeing and experiencing the local towns, the people and various places of interest along the way. Our drivers are very friendly and service oriented; they can make as many stops (photo shoot, lavatory, food) as a client needs. The ride will be a tour in itself.
This private transfer will be tailored to your own schedule not other companies schedule.
Shuttle bus transfer
For the budget conscious travelers and an economical alternate for ground transfers within Costa Rica, Fantasy Bus and Interbus are two companies that offer daily shuttles to over 50 established routes throughout the country. They are reliable and usually on time and they use air-conditioned vehicles. The only negative is that they have standard pick up schedules and they stop at several hotels along the way.
Rental Vehicles
Costa Rica Why Not can help provide a rental vehicle for your self-guided trips. Driving on your own in Costa Rica can be a challenge and an adventure to first time visitors. This is not recommended for everybody, only for the real seasoned travelers who are used to driving in unfamiliar regions and are willing to undertake the challenge. Clients have to decide carefully the net overall pros and cons of renting versus a private transfer. Majority of the rentals in Costa Rica are manual transmission. If you cannot drive a stick, you must request the automatic transmission right away because they are on a first come first served basis and it will cost more.
Very important driving tips:
Before leaving the rental office, familiarize yourself with you car's safety equipment, such as headlight a hazard lights, doors locks, and spare tire. Do not forget to get a good map if you don't have one already. Always remember to fasten seat belts. Until travelers get used to the roads and local driving habits, it is best to avoid driving at night, especially outside the city, never leave anything of value in a parked car (even if it's in the trunk and the car is locked), and always drive defensively. Hazards include pedestrians, animals on the road, huge potholes, pavement that suddenly ends, unlit vehicles, sudden fog in mountain areas, torrential rains, and reckless drivers. Given all these factors, the driver will definitely have to be prepared. Maps will be critical and traveling during the day only is recommended. Due to the complexity of the car insurance laws and driving conditions in Costa Rica , we recommend purchasing collision coverage policy when renting the vehicle.
Lock luggage and valuable in trunk or glove compartment.
Don't stop at lonesome places to change a tire, it could have been flatted intentionally.
Our roads have many curves, it is better to slow down and enjoy the landscapes.
Watch out for potholes!!! Your tires are not covered. Be careful for irresponsible drivers.
If you are involved in an accident, don't move the cars until the police arrive. Try also to get as much information as you can (other drivers ID, car plates, etc.)
Most gas stations accept mayor credit cards. Don't show cash in open places. Fill up your car before returning it.
